Scam Alert:
We have been made aware of a nationwide scam targeting Planning & Zoning Board applicants. Fraudulent invoices are being sent requesting payment for fake application approval fees. Scammers are obtaining applicant contact information -email addresses, phone numbers, and mailing addresses from publicly available documents posted on municipal websites—then sending fake invoices asking for payment via wire transfer.
Please be advised that the Town of Cornwall will never request payment by a wire transfer.
If you receive any suspicious invoice or payment request, do not respond. Please contact our office directly to verify.
The Planning Board reviews and approves all requests for subdivisions, site plan, and special permits. Applications are available at the buildings department after attending a planning board technical work session "by appointment only".
