Communications Consultant
Town of Cornwall, New York

The Town of Cornwall is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to serve as a Communications Consultant to support clear, consistent, and professional communication between Town Hall and the public.

The selected consultant will work closely with the Town Supervisor, Town Board, and Department Heads to assist with outreach to residents, business owners, stakeholders, and visitors. This role will play a key part in sharing timely information, promoting Town initiatives, and strengthening Cornwall’s brand and identity.


Scope of Services May Include:

  • Preparing and distributing a bi-monthly digital newsletter
  • Managing and updating the Town’s official social media platforms
  • Drafting and editing press releases, announcements, website content, and public notices
  • Creating graphics and print collateral (flyers, posters, mailers, event materials)
  • Coordinating with the Town’s marketing and branding consultants on the NY Forward (NYF) Project and other strategic initiatives
  • Supporting communications related to emergencies, public works updates, and major Town initiatives
  • Ensuring all communications reflect Town values, branding standards, and accessibility best practices

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with design and digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, social media management platforms)
  • Experience working with municipalities or public-sector organizations is preferred

New York Forward Small Project Fund Launch

📣 The Town of Cornwall and the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson are pleased to announce the launch of the Cornwall NY Forward Small Project Fund, a new funding opportunity designed to support small-scale projects that strengthen Downtown Cornwall.

The Town of Cornwall Small Project Fund (SPF) is a grant program designed to support building improvements, small business assistance, and reinvestment in commercial and mixed-use properties within the designated program area. Funded through the New York Forward program, the SPF aims to strengthen the downtown, support local businesses, and encourage long-term economic vitality.

Property owners and eligible businesses are encouraged to review the program materials and attend the public Information Session to learn more about eligibility, funding opportunities, and the application process.

BAR: The Board of Assessment Review hears and evaluates complaints from property owners regarding real estate assessments, helping ensure fair and equitable property taxation

 

EDAC: Help Strengthen the local economy by supporting business development

 

SBAC: seeking volunteers with experience in accounting, budget management, advanced financial assessment, and strategic planning to help guide long term fiscal decision making for the town.
