Memorial Day Weekend Information

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, please take note of the following community events, road restrictions, and service updates:

📅 Friday, May 22
🎓 West Point Graduation
Please also be aware that summer military training activities will continue through mid-August. Noise levels may vary throughout the summer, and residents may experience increased activity during Air Assault School and other specialized training sessions. Low-flying helicopters and military aircraft may be seen and heard in the area during these periods.

📅 Saturday, May 23
🎣 Black Rock Bass Busters Annual Fishing Derby – Rings Pond at 9:00AM

‼️ The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Annual Car Show scheduled for Saturday has been canceled due to predicted inclement weather.

📅 Monday, May 25
American Legion Post #353 Memorial Day Parade – Parade begins at 10:00 AM

🚫 No Parking will be permitted from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM in the following areas:
• Main St – Traffic Circle to Hudson St
• Broadway – entire length
• Willow Ave – Broadway to Main St
• Hudson St – Main St to Village Line

Vehicles remaining in restricted areas during these times may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

🏛️ Town Offices Closed
There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, May 25. Recycling collection will resume the following week on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Cornwall Goes Green Recycling Day

Cornwall Goes Green Recycling Day on Saturday, June 13 from 9AM–12PM at Cornwall Town Hall.

Accepted items include electronics, eyeglasses and hearing aids, clean used clothing, unused or expired prescription drugs, used crayons, and personal paper shredding (no bulk).

Open to Town of Cornwall and Village of Cornwall residents only

Draft Comprehensive Plan

We’ve been working hard over the past year to update the Town of Cornwall’s Comprehensive Plan—and now we want to hear from you.

This draft plan reflects months of work by the Comprehensive Plan Committee, input from our boards and partners, and—most importantly—feedback from residents through the 2025 community survey. That survey made it clear: people want to stay informed, protect our natural resources , and plan thoughtfully for the future.

You can now review:

Arbor Day 2026

In celebration of Arbor Day, the Town of Cornwall & the Cornwall Conservation Advisory Committee will be planting native trees and shrubs in Riverlight Park. Join us at 2pm between the Ice House and the Kiddie Pool parking lot.

the Town of New Windsor will be flushing Hydrants from May 4th until May 22nd.
